Day Fourteen – Immersion – 14 Day Photo Challenge

October 26, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

Sound the trumpets and roll out the red carpet I have officially made it to the end of the 14  Day Photo Challenge inspired by the Triple J’s hottest 100 albums of all time. I have really enjoyed the challenge and pushing myself creatively each day.

Its amazing what you learn and what you can achieve when you set aside a little time each day just to be creative and have fun.  I would like to thank Samara from Maddabling for organising this challenge an allowing me to participate. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.

So our final challenge was “Immersion” the album title of the group Pendulum.  This type of music is workout music to me. Should be sweating it out at the gym boxing or cycling like you are racing Tour de France.

The definition according to the free dictionary online is:

immersion – sinking until covered completely with water, dip – a brief immersion

immersion – (astronomy) the disappearance of a celestial body prior to an eclipse

immersion – complete attention; intense mental effort

immersion – a form of baptism in which part or all of a person’s body is submerged

immersion – the act of wetting something by submerging it

So thats when inspiration struck me…. Dip – A brief immersion…

Now for my final challenge photograph i give to you……. Drum roll……

Biscuit – A brief immersion in Hommus.

Day Thirteen – Human Frailty – 14 Day Photo Challenge

October 25, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

Second Last day of the 14 day Photo Challenge and this one nearly broke me. The challenges became harder as we progressed further into the challenge. It might also be the fact that the first week provided more opportunities for me to be out and about that I have not had for the second week.  I have always come up with something and today I persevered.

Challenge was “Human Frailty” album title of Hunters and Collectors. An Australian iconic band that most would have seen live at one time in their lives.

I went with a song title on the album called “The Finger” an you will be happy to know I behaved myself and take a photo o my “rude Finger”.

Don’t forget to check out what the other participants have been coming up with for the challenge.

Day Eleven- Tea and Sympathy – 14 Day Photo Challenge

October 23, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

Nearly at the finish line, we are at Day Eleven.

Today’s inspiration for the 14 Day Photo Challenge is “Tea and Sympathy” the title of Bernard Fanning’s album.

I was aiming to do a photograph of song title “yesterday is gone”. I tried a few shots but they just weren;t working for me. I soon lost interest in what I was trying to achieve and became fascinated with my cup of tea. This was not what I was trying to achieve and I think I failed this particular challenge miserably. Any sympathy for me?

At least I amuse myself.

Day Ten – Lovers – 14 Day Photo Challenge

October 22, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

Nearly across he finish line. For today’s inspiration it was “Lovers” album title for the group Sleepy Jackson.

I actually enjoy this album, nice to have playing whilst brainstorming at my bench.

This photograph was taken early this morning. I have been trying to get a shot for days and days of the two of them. I was woken up by the VERY loud conversation that the two of them were having. It is the strangest sound two cats having a conversation. They just sat there chatting, didn’t fight just talked at the top of there lungs. I wish I had audio so that you coul hear the conversation.

So my photograph is of my cat Leo and his “Lover” (basement cat) No wonder I couldn’t get a photo of them with the other being black.

Day Nine – Unit – 14 Day Photo Challenge

October 20, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

I think I spoke to soon yesterday when I said we have had such great weather for this challenge. Woke up this morning and its overcast and smells smoky. There is probably a bushfire nearby since we have ha such hot weather the last couple of days. Today we are expecting 33 degrees celcius. A bit warm but not to bad if there is no humidity.

Todays challenege is Unit the album of Regurgitator which ranked at number 10 on triple J’s hottes 100 albums of all time.

My favourite song from this album is Polyester girl, so what better inspiration then to take a photo of my favourite red dress that is polyester lined.

Todays challenge was “Two Shoes” the album for The Cat Empire. It is also the title of a song on the album. I am a big fan of the cat empire and have seen them play live twice and have there music playing whilst I work.

Two Shoes - The Cat Empire

One day one woman asked him ‘what do you to survive?’ he said ‘oh my dear listen here’ and this is what he cried
On my feet I wear two shoes for dancing ‘dancing to be free’ my feet they’re paying tribute to the Bobby Marley legacy
My knees they’ve got some cuts and bruises from skating all my days when i’m skating with my friends my troubles drift away
I say my legs they’re wearing baggy pants I like to move around cos getting down and jumping up these are some good things that I found
Aeehhhiiiaaaaa boom shak the empire be rising Aeehhhiiiaaaaa boom shak we making some lovin Aeehhhiiiaaaaa boom shak the greedy men running Aeehhhiiiaaaaa boom shak got two shoes for dancin
My waist it’s got a slinky belt with a clip that’s quick to open because loving is the sweetest thing and from my waist it happen
And my stomachs got some tasty food that’s making me feel good cos sharing some meals is something i wish the world could do
And my chest it wears a singlet ah my chest it beating proud my chest suggest I am a man that no institution can knock down And around my neck is superstition hanging from a chain because i’ve got my gods but in the end I make my own way
My mouth it’s got a great big smile that shows some great big teeth to friends it brings a happiness and to enemies it brings defeat
And my eyes they’ve got some vision that can see through many lies ah my eyes they look for better things the better things to see in life
And my ears are wearing head phones that do play my favourite songs not music i’m told to like but the songs that make me dance along
Cos on my feet are shoes for dancing ‘dancing to be free’ my feet they’re paying tribute to the bobby marley legacy

Day Six – East – 14 Day Photo Challenge

October 18, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

What sort of Australian list would it be if there was no Cold Chisel on it.

Cold Chisels album “East” was released in 1980, ranked number 42 on the hottest albums of all time.

Love them or hate them they are a band that everybody knows a couple of there songs. I think they would be number 1 on the list of bands that guys love to sing to drunk.

I am a bit of a silly mood today, so I thought I would have a little fun with this.

Without further ado…….drum roll…. “East” – Cold Chisel

I promise I will behave myself tomorrow…LOL.. Probably not.

Have a GREAT day.

Day Five – In Ghost Colours – 14 Day photo Challenge

October 17, 2012 in 14 Day Photo Challenge by Wendylee

Welcome to day Five of the 14 day Photo Challenge kindly hosted by Maddabling.

Todays theme is “In Ghost Colours” which is the album title of band Cut Copy. The album was placed at number 36 of the Triple J’s greatest albums of all time.

I don’t actually own this album but played a few tracks on Youtube to see what the band was like. Very Funky, may actually consider purchasing this one.

I knew exactly what I was going to take for this challenge. There is this great little cemetry right next to my bus stop that has some really great headstones.

The light was getting really bad as the sun was starting to set. Lucky it was daylight savings. Changed the photo to black and white with my fancy schmancy camera and than I fiddled with it a little in photoshop.
