I have been very busy making some new pendants and I am very happy with the way they have turned.
Saw pierced sterling silver with a brushed finish and featuring either my dichroic glass cabochons or fused glass cabochons.
Here is a sneak peak of a couple of the pendants.

I dropped off my entries today for the Sydney Royal Easter Show arts competition.
I ran out of time to take decent photos of my entries before dropping them off.
Here is a really bad photo pf my lampwork section entry
The focal is a glass lampwork bead that was slumped to make it a cabochon. A sterling silver set blue topaz was then set into the cabochon. The cabochon was then set into a sterling silver bezel and polished with a matt finish. A cluster of various shades of blue lampwork beads was then added to the chain. The chain is 60cm long so its a long necklace that dangles down. A handmade clasp was attached at the back which was also accented with Lampwork beads.
The other photos I have of the other entries are really bad, so I will have to wait until I get them back when the show is over. I also donlt like to post photos of the entries befor ethe judging as you never know who the judges are.
Will let you know how I go.

I have been playing around with a some new designs and getting back into saw piercing.
Have discovered the trick to successful saw piercing is the right music. Somthing to fast and you you try and go to quick and break to many saw blades. The same goes for anything with a good beat, you find yourself bobbing your head and that also leads to broken saw blades.
You need somthing smooth, wit h an even rhythm. Bit of jazz or blues works well for me and I have found I don’t break saw blades.

I have been playing with the glass again over the break and have made this dimensional art glass pendant. I made pendants of this style a few years ago when I was adding the the surface orbs to the dichroic glass pendants as accents. I thought that I would play with using all art glass to see if the effect was just as interesting.

Fused dichroic glass pendant that is made up of many layers of dichroic glass. One layer is handetched with a spiral pattern so that you see the colours though the spirals.
This pendant has a hole that has been fused into the pendant.
