Day Nine – Unit – 14 Day Photo Challenge

I think I spoke to soon yesterday when I said we have had such great weather for this challenge. Woke up this morning and its overcast and smells smoky. There is probably a bushfire nearby since we have ha such hot weather the last couple of days. Today we are expecting 33 degrees celcius. A bit warm but not to bad if there is no humidity.

Todays challenege is Unit the album of Regurgitator which ranked at number 10 on triple J’s hottes 100 albums of all time.

My favourite song from this album is Polyester girl, so what better inspiration then to take a photo of my favourite red dress that is polyester lined.

 

 

Day Eight – Wonder – 14 Day Photo Challenge

Today’s challenge is “Wonder” Album of Lisa MItchell.

Definition Wonder:

Noun:

A feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.

Verb: Desire or be curious to know something

OK, so camera inhand, Ipod on and charged. Press play and off I go.

Oh what a beautiful Mor-ning! Oh what a beautiful Day! Oh what a beautiful Mor-ning! Everything’s going my way!

I didn’t get very far and I found the perfect shot.  I love these daisies and this garden was full of them.

Todays challenge was “Two Shoes” the album for The Cat Empire. It is also the title of a song on the album. I am a big fan of the cat empire and have seen them play live twice and have there music playing whilst I work.

Two Shoes – The Cat Empire

Day Six – East – 14 Day Photo Challenge

What sort of Australian list would it be if there was no Cold Chisel on it.

Cold Chisels album “East” was released in 1980, ranked number 42 on the hottest albums of all time.

Love them or hate them they are a band that everybody knows a couple of there songs. I think they would be number 1 on the list of bands that guys love to sing to drunk.

I am a bit of a silly mood today, so I thought I would have a little fun with this.

Without further ado…….drum roll…. “East” – Cold Chisel      

I promise I will behave myself tomorrow…LOL.. Probably not.

Day Five – In Ghost Colours – 14 Day photo Challenge

Welcome to day Five of the 14 day Photo Challenge kindly hosted by Maddabling.

Todays theme is “In Ghost Colours” which is the album title of band Cut Copy. The album was placed at number 36 of the Triple J’s greatest albums of all time.

I don’t actually own this album but played a few tracks on Youtube to see what the band was like. Very Funky, may actually consider purchasing this one.

I knew exactly what I was going to take for this challenge. There is this great little cemetry right next to my bus stop that has some really great headstones.

The light was getting really bad as the sun was starting to set. Lucky it was daylight savings. Changed the photo to black and white with my fancy schmancy camera and than I fiddled with it a little in photoshop.

Day Four – Beams – 14 Day Photo Challenge

I loveeeee the Presets, they always have me bouncing around singing, dancing, or working out. Great cycle music.

So I was very excited that Day four’s challenge was “Beams” by the presets. The only problem I was stumped there was no way I was posting a picture here of me working out, that’s just not happening. So what other significance did this album have that would inspire a photograph.

That’s it…….  I knew before starting this challenge that I would possibly not make it through the challenge without a piccie of my cat. The thing about Leo he does not like his photo taken when I want to take his photo. Although the moment I am  paying attention to something else he all of sudden wants his photo taken.

I was actually trying to take action shots of the dandelion. Leo decided he wanted to model with it and sat on it! Lucky I have enough dandelions in my garden I can try again tommorrow.

 

Day Three – A Book like this – 14 Day Photo Challenge

Into Day 3 of the 14 day photo challenge.

Todays theme is “A book like this”

“A Book Like This” is the album name from Angus & Julia Stone, which reached number 38 in the Top 100 Albums of all time.

I am not familar with this album so I just went with the theme of the album title.

The photo is my current reading material on my bedside table.  I currently switch between 2 books. The first being “Her Fearful Symmetry – Audrey Niffengger. The second book is “Pink Boots and a Machete – Mireya Mayor. Its the story of a NFL Cheerleader who becomes a National Geographic Explorer. Mireya Mayor is currently the host on National Geographic Wild Channel.

 

 

Day Two – Hourly Daily – 14 Day Photo Challenge

Oppppps in all my excitement of yesterdays events I forgot to do my day 2 photo challenge.

The theme for day 2 is Hourly Daily, this is the title of Australian band You Am I.

The album reached number 26 on the Triple j Top 100 greatest albums of all times.

My photo interpretation is from the song title “Soldiers”

Are you ready for your Christmas orders?

 

 

 

Well as the saying goes “Time Flies when you are having fun”. This year has been no exception feels like we were only celebrating the new year last week and now its 9 weeks until christmas.

This sent me into a bit of a panic and made me do a stocktake of supplies so that I was ready. Suppliers always get inundated with last minute orders and the general christmas rush. So I wanted to be prepared so that I didn’t run out of anything and got in early so that my suppliers had it in stock.

So my checklist went a little like this.

  • Business Cards – Very important especially with upcoming shows, exhibitions and markets.
  • Gift Tags – MOO cards are ideal for this. Mini business cards.  www.moo.com
  • Packaging – Boxes, tins and Tissue Paper
  • Postal Supplies – Padded envelopes, Express Bags.
  • Sterling Silver Recycled Sheet and Wire (to make all my earhooks)
  • Sheet Glass
  • Wax – I know seems a little weird to have on my list but I need it to carve my designs for lost wax casting.
  • Metalsmithing Super Essentials – SOLDER, FLUX AND PICKLE
  • Assorted Findings and beads that are not handmade but are rather accents.
  • Snaplock bags (can never have to many in various sizes)

 

Check, check, OK I think I am all sorted and actually organised.

I have been doing alot of searching Ebay for packaging supplies as there alot of sellers sell in various bulk quantities. There are also some sellers who sell tissue paper precut in 30cm x 30cm pieces which is an ideal size for jewellery. Convenient so that I also don’t have to cut it up as its ready to go.
