Day Four – Beams – 14 Day Photo Challenge

I loveeeee the Presets, they always have me bouncing around singing, dancing, or working out. Great cycle music.

So I was very excited that Day four’s challenge was “Beams” by the presets. The only problem I was stumped there was no way I was posting a picture here of me working out, that’s just not happening. So what other significance did this album have that would inspire a photograph.

“You got me thinking, Bout the kitty in the middle. You got me thinking , Bout the kitty in the middle.”

That’s it…….  I knew before starting this challenge that I would possibly not make it through the challenge without a piccie of my cat. The thing about Leo he does not like his photo taken when I want to take his photo. Although the moment I am  paying attention to something else he all of sudden wants his photo taken.

Drummmmmrollllll……….Leo the photo bomber. Song Title : Kitty in the Middle : Presets Album – Beams

I was actually trying to take action shots of the dandelion. Leo decided he wanted to model with it and sat on it! Lucky I have enough dandelions in my garden I can try again tommorrow.

Day Three – A Book like this – 14 Day Photo Challenge

Into Day 3 of the 14 day photo challenge.

Todays theme is “A book like this”

“A Book Like This” is the album name from Angus & Julia Stone, which reached number 38 in the Top 100 Albums of all time.

I am not familar with this album so I just went with the theme of the album title.

The photo is my current reading material on my bedside table.  I currently switch between 2 books. The first being “Her Fearful Symmetry – Audrey Niffengger. The second book is “Pink Boots and a Machete – Mireya Mayor. Its the story of a NFL Cheerleader who becomes a National Geographic Explorer. Mireya Mayor is currently the host on National Geographic Wild Channel.

Day Two – Hourly Daily – 14 Day Photo Challenge

Oppppps in all my excitement of yesterdays events I forgot to do my day 2 photo challenge.

The theme for day 2 is Hourly Daily, this is the title of Australian band You Am I.

The album reached number 26 on the Triple j Top 100 greatest albums of all times.

My photo interpretation is from the song title “Soldiers”

Day One – Young Modern

So young modern is an album released by Australian bad Silverchair in 2007.

It was voted number 70 on the hottest 100 all time albums.

My challenge now was how was i going to interpret this into a photograph.

My initial thoughts was a photograph of a silverchair..mmm…don’t have fun. So armed with my camera in hand, ipod playing “young Modern” I decided to venture out into the streets and see if I could be inspired.

What an adventure I was attacked by a yappy little dog, perhaps it was my singing that upset him. A grumpy old man told me I could not take photographs of his beautiful Lillie’s in his front yard. He also pointed his finger at me and said to stay away from the wattle as well. HOW RUDE. The wattle was on the nature strip but I wasn’t going to mess with him as he had a shovel in his hand.

I happily left them behind and kept walking along when I came to the big old stairs that I walk everyday. They are steep cement steps that take you down to the riverfront. They are great for running up and down as many runners do of a morning.

Then came the light bulb moment!!!!

“Waking up strong in the morning

Walking in a straight line

Lately I am a desperate believer

Been walking in a straight line”

These are part of the lyrics of Silverchair’s Straight Line which is on the Young Modern Album.

These stairs are my Day one photo. It is the path I take everyday, it is also the path I take to stay strong when I run them on weekends and its walking in a straight line.

Photos of the other participants will be listed daily in a single post.
